This work has been created for all who love travel and travel photography and for those who appreciate the world as the camera sees it-- in its splendor-- and not as some would have you believe it is.

As a freelance travel writer / photographer Byron writes a travel column for the Charlotte Observer and the Mooresville Tribune on an on-going basis.

Other credits include: American Thunder (a Time magazine publication); Our State magazine; Blue Ridge Country magazine; Carolina Living magazine; Winston-Salem Journal; Savannah Morning News; The Florida Times Union; Tampa Tribune; and the Orlando Sentinel.

Summing up Crowley’s work, Lowell Teal commented: “Byron Crowley’s written description of historic places and natural beauty captures the readers interest with a beginning connection that is spellbinding until completion of the article. The reader becomes transformed in place and time during the first paragraph with his ability to write. The hook is set deep!

Yet, more astounding, is his creative photography. I have no knowledge how he might study an object to photograph. When he has, the finished product always conveys the impression of depth and distance in perfect perspective. His work has a visual angle exemplary of only the true professional. He is the very best.”

deepest sense, about what is being photographed.”
Ansel Adams

“The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera.”
Dorothea Lange

“No place is boring, if you've had a good night's sleep and have a pocket full of unexposed film.”
Robert Adams

“.....words and pictures can work together to communicate more powerfully than either alone.”
William Albert Allard
